First – make your finger puppets. You can use the instructions below, draw straight onto your fingers, or a combination of both.

1. Print the TEMPLATES onto card if possible, but paper will work as well.

2. Colour in your people puppets, you could WATCH the story again to get an idea of what they look like.

3. Cut the people out, write the character name on the back near the head just in case you forget which is which.

4. Use white card or paper to cut 8 strips.

5. Stick the puppets onto the middle of the strips, one on each.

6. Wrap the strip around your finger and glue together. You can cut it to fit your finger.

7. Colour in the donkey and cut it out, cut out the circles as well, your fingers will go here to make his legs. (If you use our script for your puppet show, the donkey will play 2 characters.)

Use your puppets to re-enact the story. Here is a SCRIPT if you want to use it, or you can make up your own.
